Following the YPS track on Tuesday, March 1st, RSA and YPS will host a social for those members at Scientific Assembly. Details to follow, but keep that evening open to come get to know your fellow YPS members and meet the newly elected board members for 2011.

In addition to the YPS lecture track, we are announcing an opportunity from YPS, to be a presenter at AAEM’s Scientific Assembly! YPS will be sponsoring Open Mic this year, which is a forum that provides an opportunity for physicians to break into the speaking circuit.

Open Mic will be held at AAEM’s Scientific Assembly on March 1st, 7:30am to 6:00pm, in Orlando, Florida. This is your chance to present 25 minutes on a topic of your choice.

Slots on the hour will be filled in advance and the slots on the half-hour will be filled on a “first-come, first-served” basis by signing up on-site, allowing 16 “new voices” to be heard and evaluated during the day. The top two open-mic speakers will be invited to give a formal presentation at the 2012 Scientific Assembly in San Diego, CA. Go to http://www.aaem.org/education/scientificassembly/sa11/open_mic.php for more details.

Please don’t forget to renew your AAEM and YPS memberships for the 2011 dues year. Membership fees are due by the end of February to take advantage of all the membership benefits available. For those of you who will be attending SA, you may pay them during the conference. Go to http://www.aaem.org/membership.php to renew your membership.

See you in Orlando!
